Sweet Rebells

Have you ever wondered how Gustaf and Björn became friends? Or why Mando Diao's record "Never Seen The Light of Day" sound so different than the others? You want to know what exactly is the the "hurricane bar" or why they've written "This album could have been produced by Björn Olsson" in their record "Ode to Ochrasy"?

Then you have to buy the book

Süße Rebellen - Die Mando Diao Story (Klaus Janke)

Unfortunately it's only available in german but if you're a Citizen at www.mandodiao.com you can download it as a PDF file in English.

Curious? Here's the first clause of the foreword:

It was freezing cold when in January 2010 I walked through Borlänge, a small Swedish town, where Mando Diao comes from. I wanted to learn the roots of the band, visit places, talk to friends and acquaintances. My arrival was immediately noticed, and a journalist of the local daily newspaper had a short interview with me. “What interests you about Mando Diao?” she particularly wanted to know. After all, it's not every day a journalist makes such a long journey to occupy himself with the most well-known sons of the town. And though I had been working on the book for quite a long time I had to think about the answer. What made me curious in the very beginning? One can do more sensible things than write a book about a rock band.
